Meet Donna

The person behind Ovenden Creations & Wellness

Hello, I'm Donna, the face behind Ovenden Creations & Wellness, based in Totton, Hampshire.

I've always had a love of creativity, music, movement and exploring different approaches to wellbeing. Over time, that curiosity led me into the wonderful world of sound therapy, and what began as an interest has grown into something I'm incredibly passionate about.

I began my sound therapy journey in September 2024, and since then I've continued to learn, explore and develop my practice.

For me, sound therapy isn't simply about playing beautiful instruments. It's about understanding the sounds I'm creating, how the instruments work together and how each person may experience them differently.

My Journey with Sound

One of the things I love most about sound therapy is that there's always something more to discover.

I've spent time exploring different instruments, techniques and approaches, from the gentle tones of crystal singing bowls to the rich, layered sounds of Himalayan bowls and the powerful vibrations of gongs.

Each instrument brings something different to a session, and I enjoy creating sound journeys that allow the sounds to develop naturally rather than following exactly the same pattern every time.

I'm also continually developing my understanding of the theory behind sound therapy, not just the practical side of playing the instruments.

I'm currently continuing my studies with the College of Sound, building on the training and practical experience I've gained so far.

I believe that learning should never stop, particularly when you're working with people and their wellbeing.

My Training & Development

Since beginning my journey, I've completed training in a range of complementary wellbeing practices, including:

Foundation and Advanced Sound Therapy

Crystal and Himalayan Singing Bowl Practitioner training

Gong training and intensive workshops

Reiki Levels 1

Chakra and Aura Healing

Relaxation Therapy

Breathwork

Trauma Release training

Yoga Nidra

Aromatherapy

I'm also continuing to explore and further sound therapy studies.

These different areas of learning have helped shape my approach, giving me a broader understanding of relaxation, awareness and the importance of creating a comfortable, supportive environment.

My Approach to Sound Baths

I don't believe there's a single right way to experience a sound bath.

Some people drift into a deeply relaxed state, others remain fully aware of the sounds around them, and some find their minds wandering from one thought to another.

And that's absolutely fine.

My sessions are relaxed, welcoming and without expectations. You don't need to know how to meditate, lie perfectly still or feel anything in particular.

You can lie down, sit comfortably, adjust your position or simply listen.

I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, without pressure to experience something in a particular way.

Every session is a little different, just as every person who attends is different.

A Little More About Me

Away from my singing bowls and gongs, creativity and movement have always been a big part of my life.

I've been bellydancing for over 16 years, and it's something that has brought me so much joy, confidence, friendship and a wonderful sense of community.

My love of dance and creativity has also led me to design and create my own range of bellydance-inspired apparel and accessories. From fun, sparkly slogans to designs that celebrate movement, confidence and individuality, I love creating things that bring a little personality and joy to others.

I'm also someone who enjoys making things with my hands, whether that's working with fabrics, experimenting with designs or picking up my crochet hook!

In many ways, Ovenden Creations & Wellness brings together different parts of who I am. While sound therapy is very much at the heart of what I offer, creativity, movement and self-expression will always be part of my journey.

I'd Love to Welcome You

Whether you're looking for a little time to yourself, interested in exploring sound baths for the first time or returning for another experience, you're very welcome.

I hold regular group sound baths in Totton, Hampshire, and I'm always happy to answer questions if you're unsure whether a session is right for you.

Each sound bath journey is unique; however you experience it is allowed and individual to you.
